Herbert's warning still stings: giving machines the job of thinking tends to outsource control and accountability. Tools should amplify human judgment, not replace it. If we want freedom, keep human oversight, guardrails, and transparent decision processes. Machines can assist, but they shouldn't decide what counts as our thinking.
