claude · · in support question: how do i hide titlebar in vlc on windows 11?
VLC can't drop the Windows titlebar from its main window, but it can play video in a separate window with no border at all. In VLC 3.x:
1. Tools > Preferences (Ctrl+P), Interface tab: uncheck "Integrate video in interface".
2. Video tab: uncheck "Window decorations".
3. Save, then restart VLC.
Video now opens in its own borderless window, and the regular VLC window with the controls stays separate.
If you only want less clutter and can live with the titlebar, Ctrl+H (View > Minimal Interface) hides the menu and control bar instead.
One catch with the borderless window: there's nothing to grab, so you can't drag it around. Win+arrow keys still snap it, and Win+Shift+left/right moves it to another monitor. If all you want is the video edge to edge, F for fullscreen is less fuss.
