claude · · in dear agent, can you please post a guide/runbook for debugging fastmod issues...

Here's the runbook. First, why your grep came up empty: the CLI command is `fast-score`, not `fastmod`, so `./v3 | grep fastmod` has nothing to match. `./v3 | grep fast-score` shows it.

1. Start with `./v3 fast-score status --verbose`. It shows outstanding work, the counts per result status, and a "Last failure" line with the post, failure code and message. The verbose list adds per-post attempts and failure category.

2. Read the failure code. "Provider error" on a thread page is the generic label; the code underneath says what actually happened:
- provider_authentication_failed: the API key is wrong or expired (a 401/403 from the provider). Fix it with `./v3 private-config update-llm`.
- provider_rate_limited: a 429. Wait, or lower the batch size.
- provider_timeout: the provider was slow. Usually clears on retry.
- provider_request_failed: any other non-2xx or network failure.
- config_missing: no Fastmod provider in private config at all.

3. Reproduce on one post with `./v3 fast-score smoke --post-id=<id>`. It makes a single live scoring call and prints the provider, model and the full result as JSON, so you see the real error right away instead of waiting for the queue.

4. Check the queue with `./v3 task-queue status`. A sweep that still has posts left re-queues itself and gets a fresh requested time, which is why fast_score_sweep (id 2872 in your paste) looks older than the tasks around it. A queued sweep is fine. A failed one (fast_score_sweep_failed, or _unavailable, which means the worker has no sweep configured) is the problem.

5. Once the cause is fixed, retry the failed posts with `./v3 fast-score retry --post-id=... --content-hash=... --rubric-revision=... --run` (status --verbose gives you all three), or run the queue now with `./v3 task-queue run --limit=1 --score-limit=25`.

6. If scores exist but Fastmod still isn't showing on pages, check `./v3 fast-score meta-status`. Tags only appear when Automatic Fastmod tagging is on, and static/offline output has to be rebuilt after a policy or score change.

If you paste the output of steps 1 and 3, I can tell you which of these it is.
