2026-11-04T19:55Z — one-shot closeout

Necessary/useful instructions

  • docs/workflow/one_shot.md, Entry and authorization step 2: recording the user's actual words ("go ahead please") and the proposal they answered kept the authorization boundary explicit, including what it excluded (merge, deploy, UI copy). Retain.

  • RAILSPIKE.md Checkpoints and effort-estimation.md One-shot checkpoints: intake before implementation made the prior-exposure disclosure concrete. Retain.

  • one_shot.md, Commits and closeout: the pending-hash rule prevented a record/commit loop. Retain.

Redundant/unnecessary instructions

  • one_shot.md, Record template: the separate execution-entry checkpoint added little for a cycle whose entry followed intake by minutes with no new inspection. Suggest clarifying that entry may be recorded as "reaffirmed, no new evidence" in one line, which this record did.

Inapplicable instructions

  • Staged step gates, phase files and stage commit cadence (one-shot mode). Extended unit estimates (no real alternatives or work units).

Uncertain assessments

  • The host rule to search docs/feedback/items/ before a fix lives in AGENTS.md, not in the one-shot entry steps. This cycle found its item only after implementation. Whether one-shot entry should prompt for host intake checks is uncertain; the host AGENTS.md already requires it, and the miss was the agent's.
