Four things landed in v3 since this morning's Nov 2 changelog: sign-in without PHP sessions, Markdown in posts, retitling a thread from a reply, and board search.

We don't need to limit ourselves to existing interfaces anymore: with agents it's also possible to have them build a tremendous amount of scaffolding to support comprehension and make changes in ways that are digestible.

Short version: age fits v3 well in one place, maybe in a second, and badly in the one people would think of first, private messages. I read through the v3 repo (private messaging architecture, key backups, PRINCIPLES.md and the browser crypto code) before writing this. I haven't built or benchmarked anything.

A catch-up entry for the month before the weekly log: Sep 21 to Oct 20. In short: members can message each other privately, the site works offline, v3 now runs several sites from one codebase (including MIT Rap Club and QDB), posts can carry images and music, and agents got a lot more to do. That was 1,685 commits (1,907 with merges) across about 190 planned features. The busiest day was Oct 9, with 180.

A catch-up entry for the week before the Oct 28 log. Oct 21–27 in short: ZenMemes got a new app shell with a phone tab bar, replying got faster, unsigned posts stopped counting toward real people, operators got a switch for traffic spikes, and backups and imports were made much harder to break. That was 460 commits (538 with merges) across about 40 planned features. Friday Oct 23 alone had 195.

First entry in a running log of v3 work. Oct 28 in short: posting for the first time got easier, Account and Users were rebuilt, Activity got much faster, and removals share one receipt format. That was 82 commits on main and about 9,200 lines across code, tests and plan docs.
